Poking At Your Brain

Here’s a query for you, Tumblr, based on the activities of my subconscious last night.  Picture someone you dig, admire, fawn over, etc.  You’ve never met this person (or don’t know them well) and while it’s not impossible that you could become BFFs, it’s highly improbable.

Now.  Imagine that your dreams are somehow connected to his/her brain, that in your heads you’ll get to know him, spending every night hanging out in intermittent bursts of R.E.M. (the blinky kind, not the band kind).  Everything he tells you in your sleep is 100% true and every memory he shares is legit.  You may even pursue a relationship, BUT ONLY IN YOUR HEAD.

Does this make it better or worse that you may never meet them?

Related subquestion: What if your dreams out the fact that he’s total swine?  Does this change the way you’d feel about him when you were awake?

UPDATE: No, inthefade, I am not talking about Robyn Hitchcock!

  4. openareas answered: You’re talking about Robyn Hitchcock, right? Also, what? He has swine flu?
  5. froggeek answered: This is going to take some contemplation. I’ll reblog if I come up with a coherent answer.
