Billy Bragg: “The Beach is Free”

Another weekend, another several hours sealed in my car, gesturing wildly and wishing a pox on the Hyundai driver behind me who WON’T STOP RIDING MY BUMPER STOP IT STOP IT STOP IT. I’m heading to the South Carolina coast to liberally apply SPF 9000, gorge myself on seafood that I didn’t just shake out of a Gorton’s box, and resist the urge to buy nine t-shirts for $1 if only to get the complimentary hermit crab.
