I just endured another of my friend Andrew’s hurl-inducing Crossfit workouts and the only bright spot (other than the fact that I somehow managed to not pass out during the last set of jumping pull ups) is that I came home and tried a new protein shake recipe.
Behold:
1 11 ounce container of coconut water
1 cup tart cherry juice
1 scoop vanilla (or unflavored) protein powder
1/2 cup frozen strawberries
1 banana
Throw it all in a blender, mash the button until it turns the color of a melted flamingo. Drink. Enjoy. Think of me.
Nutrition Info: 440 Calories; 70 g Carbs; 27 g Protein (your mileage may vary based on your brand of choice)
It gets a serious thumbs up for taste but a thumbs down because the first two ingredients are only available at Whole Foods, which means this drink just cost me approximately $83.
