He made a fast and easy connection with the audience, walking to the front of the stage to wave, blow kisses, and toss his hat before tying on his trademark red bandana. Halfway through the set, telltale curls of smoke started to appear above the crowd standing in the outfield, making Durham the only place you could inhale the intermingling scents of pot and hot dogs, other than maybe at David Crosby’s house.
