I never shut up about this guy (or other assorted Englishmen) but the afternoon was screaming for a listen of The Convincer, and this track is an absolute masterpiece.  The arrangement’s just this side of Burt Bacharach and the lyrical details are all Ray Davies, a combination that equals three minutes and seven seconds of perfection.
