Marshall Crenshaw - “Someday, Someway” (1982, Live)
If you don’t own Mr. Crenshaw’s self-titled debut, I’ll be shoving it down your chimney for Christmas. It’s a power-pop essential, produced by Richard Gottehrer who was also on the boards for the LP debuts of Blondie and the Go Go’s, along with some of my other faves from pop [The Fleshtones, The Bongos] to pub rock [Dr. Feelgood].
I’m not even sure Mr. Gottehrer is still alive, but based on his production credits, I don’t think that would prevent me from making out with him.
live at the Chance in Poughkeepsie around this time. A great example of pure pop with classic Rock & Roll roots.
own it! I’mma go clean...my chimney. I’ll have some some PBR or Schlitz waiting for you on...
