“Just keep writing it all down and seek audiences frequently”.  That’s the advice George Carlin gave the sixth grade version of me when I wrote him a letter and asked how I could become a comic.

So I did.

And I do.

I just wish I’d thought to write him back to say thank you, that I listened, and that whatever crumbs of a career I’ve managed to scrape together have been because of him.
