Thanks to sloganeerist whose posts last week reminded me that I had this album in my collection. The last time I was in LA, I made an obligatory pilgrimage to Amoeba to—of course—drop more money than I had on rarities and imports, weighing my duffel bag down with a collection of cracked jewel cases.

I was thumbing my way through the aisles, when this cover caught my eye. Scuffed baseballs are the way to my heart, and seeing the names Scott McCaughey and Peter Buck beside it just made it that much more awesome.  When I flipped it over and saw a track called “Ted Fucking Williams”, well, that just ensured that I’d be parting with another $7.99.
